Are Hotels the new Galleries?
The 25hours Hotel
More and more hotels are offering their guests new, innovative concepts. From works of art in the rooms to social business solutions and architectural highlights, we would like to introduce you to special hotels whose concepts fascinate us in our new blog series. We start with the 25hours Hotel in Zurich.
Many hotels are presenting their guests with works of art in a new setting: experiencing art outside the usual, usually distanced environment of museums or galleries in this unfamiliar context is becoming a new form of culture. The hotels become ambassadors for art. Your guests have new access to the works - and can get to know and appreciate the art over a longer period of time in a personal setting.
The presentation of art is multifaceted. On the one hand, hotels offer access to world-famous works, such as the Altstadt Vienna Hotel with artworks by Niki de Saint Phalle and Andy Warhol. On the other hand, many hotel owners and managers are increasingly keen to offer local artists a forum for their works.

Artist in Residence
The 25hours Hotel in Zurich goes one step further. The cool lifestyle hotel on Langstrasse offers national and international artists a guest studio on the first floor. Here, artists find workspace and infrastructure for their creativity.
The artists are also allowed to live and work temporarily in the hotel. At the end of their stay, they leave the hotel a work of art for the art collection. Art lovers have the opportunity to meet the artists in person and find out more about their work as part of the "Open Studio", an exclusive exhibition.
